Exactly. NDSU has been beat by SDSU in the regular season, and they go piss away a couple of other games.

You know why I know they have not been good enough to get to Frisco? Because they have not yet been to Frisco and frankly not been close. They have been blown out in the playoffs time after time again, and those losses have not just came against NDSU.

Just was looking through Ross' game clips on twitter, and I would imagine Roehl and Entz looked at the HB pass and realize they should have just ran play action. Babicz was so open and the time it would have taken for Trey to flip around, get set and throw he still would have been open. Dimitri could have blocked the DB crashing and then you would have actually had your QB throwing. The design was there and it was so close to being there... anyways back to trashing Stiggy and his million dollar funding shortage.

Entz did make the comment that the reason they tried that was two half back passes had been successful against SDSU this year. If we make the block on the guy that gets to Dimitri it’s wide open. Not like they were pulling things out of their ass (which is what it felt like at the time).

That is true. The coaches saw that it had worked and thought it might work again.

McFeely said the call was "Bizarro" and blamed the coaches for putting Dimitri Williams in that position.

According to this site JMU spent just a shade over $10M on football in 2017 (the most recent year they have data for): http://cafidatabase.knightcommission...itution_data-2

In comparison NDSU spent just under $5.3M on football in 2017: http://cafidatabase.knightcommission...itution_data-2

According to this site SDSU spent $6.1M in 2017: http://cafidatabase.knightcommission...itution_data-2

And for anyone wondering UND spent just under $4.5M in 2017: http://cafidatabase.knightcommission...itution_data-2
So, you're saying Steigy was lying when he said he needs to close the gape money-wise and needs the extra million NDSU is spending? I seriously wonder if he was under the influence of Joose when he said that since based on the numbers you provided Entz needs another 800k to catch up to the Steigs!

For as bad as the defensive read (or maybe it was just the call) was for SDSU on that 4th down 71 yard TD run by Cofield it was that good on that play. You can see the CB #21 blitzes off the snap. If he is a step slower Williams has time to throw to a wide open Babicz. I still don't think it was a bad call... just got outmaneuvered by SDSU's defensive call/read on that play. Teachable moment for Williams that he needs to worry about eluding the defender first if pressure is coming that hard.

for sure. just kinda thinking this could be a big play in the future if we just used play action.

I'm also curious if Malstrom, having more experience, steps into the CB knowing that the play is flowing that way instead of blocking the linebacker who is at least an extra step behind the CB.
