I see it as being disrespectful to the current players on the team.

It's accurate. Their total operating expenses in 2017/2018 was $51,719,402.

    http://www.apa.state.va.us/reports/JamesMadisonUniversityNCAA2018.pd

According to this site JMU spent just a shade over $10M on football in 2017 (the most recent year they have data for): http://cafidatabase.knightcommission...itution_data-2

In comparison NDSU spent just under $5.3M on football in 2017: http://cafidatabase.knightcommission...itution_data-2

According to this site SDSU spent $6.1M in 2017: http://cafidatabase.knightcommission...itution_data-2

And for anyone wondering UND spent just under $4.5M in 2017: http://cafidatabase.knightcommission...itution_data-2

How much of JMU's number is going towards their stadium? Or is that under a seperate line item?

Bisonville is great at analysis and even in game adjustment to team status

I believe that's the "Athletic facility debt service" line item in that pdf I linked above that is $5,780,820 worth of their operating expenses so just a shade over 10% of it.

Fun fact: No D1 football team has ever won 16 games in a single season.
Do you think that the 2019 Bison FB team already has this set as one of the season goals? I mean, you know, beyond going 1-0 this week.

I'd like to say no and believe that none of the staff or players on the team are thinking about an undefeated season right now. However, as much as Coach K told us last year about winning the day, going 1-0 for the week, etc...we all found out at the end of season that the seniors had met in the spring and knew they could do something special that next year. I think a lot of the coach speak cliche answers aren't real when asked about being aware of outside things, ie others teams results, conference standings, playoff seeding etc. But whatever they need to do or say to keep these 18-22 year old young men focused and grinding works for me. Win the Valley, get home field.

So which one is correct? The knight commission says a shade over $6m in 2017. SDSU says they only spent $3.8m in 2018. I doubt they cut spending that much in one year.
