Default Re: 2019 SDSU October 26th

Things I’ll be watching today include:

    - As every week, can the Jackrabbit offense keep the Bison offense off the field? Battle of the RFR quarterbacks!!! SDSU was involved recruiting Trey Lance, but rebounded nicely from that loss to find QB J’Bore Gibbs in Chicago (teammate Don Gardner is from there). SDSU has the stars at RB & WR in #20 Pierre Strong (5’ 11” 200 Soph - 756 yards, 8.3 ypc, 6 td’s) and #15 Cade Johnson (5’ 10” 180 JR - 31 recpt, 19.4 ypc, 6 td’s). LT Evan Greeneway (6’ 7” 295 SR) and RG Eagan Lickiss (6’ 4” 325 JR) are the returning starters and the Jackrabbits have worked in the rest of the new line, including some experienced big Jacks - e.g. 6’ 5” 340 SR C Matt Clark.
The Bison counter with Code Green and also their Rushmore D Line - Derrek Tuszka - Spencer Waege - Costner Ching!

    - Jackrabbit D Line has experience and depth, won’t be easy to wear down. DE Ryan Earith (6’ 4” 260 SR) is a preseason All-MVFC pick. As is Bisonville’s favorite Jack, 7th year senior LB Rozeboom. Another DE, Reece Winkleman, was a very good recruiting get for SDSU from Marshall MN, teammate of Trey Lance. Never did figure out why NDSU did not offer? On the All-Name team is DT Krockett Krolikowski, a 6’ 2” 280 Soph from Winner SD. He celebrated a sack against the Bison last year with his patented Krock Pot Stir. Very good marketing! He has struggled returning from an injury, but still provides quality depth. Another depth DL for the Jackrabbits is DE Tolu Ogunrinde (6’ 1” 265 JR). NDSU was involved in his recruiting when he was a high school RB, at the time he was in the 220-230 range, the Jacks have grown him into a DE.

    - In watching SDSU against Minnesota, the Jackrabbits did a good job of making the mountainous Gopher OL move their feet - only they were not as quick at it as the Wascally Wabbits. IMO the Gophs playcalling went the wrong way, trying to run a slow developing RPO instead of using their talented receivers. Or another way to say it is Minnesota should have used the pass to establish the run. NDSU has, imo, better athletes on the OL than Minnesota, so will have more choice on what Coach Roehl dials up. But I would also look for NDSU to pass to establish the run. Moving Trey Lance around with RPO choices makes for a nervous Stiggy!

    GoBizon!!!!
#Fired up for the road trip! Hope they have these extra food trucks in Brookings I was reading about? Otherwise that shiny new Rabbithut they built is a little short still on food (also bathroom space).
