SDSU's D-line looked really good against the Gophers. That will be the telling game!!! On the road against a well balance ranked team. If you can beat SDSU at their house this year you can win it all at the FCS level.
Ummmm, UNI comes to Fargo for homecoming. The back to back road games are SDSU and YSU. Just sayin...

UNI is a home game. Should be a good test though. SDSU on the road will tell us everything we need to know about this team.

Not sure if this was shared yet or not, but here’s BMac’s article on why he puts JMU above NDSU...

#1 Not arguing they should drop because of WVU loss, just their lack of quality wins compared to NDSU makes ranking them higher unreasonable.

#2 It's still false to argue that just because WVU is FBS they have superior lineman. All arguments he makes on this point are general to FBS and not specific to WVU strengths at those positions.

#3 He's basing his current ranking in part on his expectation that NDSU will lose a game in next 5 games. WTF?!?

#4 His preseason analysis is based on the number of players returning from JMU in part because they played against the Bison 2 & 3 years ago, but what about those players losing three games last year and in the playoffs to Colgate who NDSU destroyed.

Great article and points. JMU has a quality loss to West Virginia and accordingly, deserve to be ranked No. 1. After all, they dominated in the trenches on both sides of the ball. I'm just confused how they managed to lose when dominating the way they did.

If his only case is "they lost more starters" and "butt FBS" then that's a weak case.

JMU maybe didn't lose as many starters but they lost to Colgate last year, and Elon.

But they (JMU) lost to the number 1 defense in the country (Colgate) so technically that is a good loss aka UWV.

With the amount of starts we lost, and the quality of those starters...I think it weighs in...especially since it only puts us at #2. With the amount of starts we lost, I'm surprised we were #1 to start. I also think JMU will be a fair amount better than last year. There is no way JMU should have lost last year to Colgate...coach's head wasn't in the game.
