Former NDSU wrestler Clay Ream decided to wrestle at the Wolfpack Open today. He didn’t want to cut any weight so he wrestled at 184 and ended up taking 3rd. Not too bad for someone who has only had five practices with a HS Team since April. LOL

NDSU beat Augustana at the SHAC today. NDSU forfeited at 125 and lost at 133, where NDSU started true freshman Tyler Jones. NDSU also got Dylan Droegemuller his first NDSU start and started veteran backups Cole Witzig and Dan Stibral.

Cressell got his third straight start at 184, while Van Maanen got his first win of the year at 149.

NDSU will be back in action at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas tournament on Friday and Saturday. CKLV is probably the second or third toughest tournament of the NCAA season, behind the NCAA tournament (The B1G Tounrament being the other tough one).

One could argue that the Big 10 is tougher than the NCAA due to the lack of “weak” competition.

I think you could say the Big 10 is tougher to get X number of wins, but the NCAA is tougher to take Xth place. The CKLV is certainly the easiest of the three to pick up wins at. I could go either way on whether it is harder to place at Big 10 or CKLV.
