I like it. It doesn't look too hard or too easy. There should be a lot of competitive duals. I'm glad that they keep going to the CKLV.

The season kind of gets underway tonight with the green and gold scrimmage at 7pm. It's free to attend at the SHAC, and will be broadcast on the NDSU wrestling Facebook page. There aren't a lot of super intriguing matchups, but there are a few.

157 and HWT are the two most obvious highlights. Luke Weber, Nick Knutson, and Jared Franek all battling it out at 157. Weber and Knutson wrestle with the winner getting Franek. I don't know if you've seen the advertisement with Franek on it, but he looks like a monster.

Stibral vs Metz will likely be close again at HWT.

Outside of those two weights, I'm very interested in 141 and 184. 141 will see Sam Hampton return and we'll get to see what growth Dylan Droegemuller has made at 141. These two square off with the winner getting Degen/Stuhl. Michael Otomo is scheduled to wrestle at 174 after being the starter 184 last year, which is interesting. He'll have Jesse Shearer.

Outside of that, excited to see Corey Gamet and TJ Pottinger hit the mat.

Big surprise so far is rFr Jimmy Noel advancing past 2 time NCAA qualifier and top 20 at 174 Lorenzo De La Riva.

De La Riva got injured as Noel got a takedown. Noel then chose neutral and got another takedown and two nearfall before De La Riva injury defaulted.

Noel will take on Jesse Shearer or Michael Otomo, who are out there now.

rFr Jimmy Noel wins the 174 mini bracket with wins over De La Riva and Shearer. Noel was probably the 4th seed going into this too.

    Franek beats Weber 7-5.

South Beach Duals are falling apart. We are headed to the Southern Scuffle instead.

What kind of line-up can we expect for the Bison open this year?

I think everyone who’s healthy will be wrestling. Excited to be in Fargo this weekend.
