I know you are using hyperbole to prove a point but D3 teams will beat even the best high school teams. I've worked with some of the best high school teams in the Midwest and average D3 teams in our conference and there is a noticable difference. It's a numbers game and only 3-5% of high school players play in college. There are better individual players on high school teams but even the best teams only have 10-12 players who will play in college.
Pioneer teams are nowhere near MVFC teams but San Diego has proven they can occasionally compete with good FCS teams. UND will be another big step up from Butler this week and the rest of the MVFC will be another step.

Trey got some love on the Dan Patrick show today.
You know what is fun? Folks trying to discount what he due to level of competition. Yes, we get that it was Butler. But it is 6 TDs, and he showed ability to read the field when throwing and was accurate. Poor old Thumper is probably in the corner whimpering.....

Hard not to be incredibly excited after his performance. Yes, it was butler, but what we saw is EXACTLY what you'd expect a Championship Caliber QB to do to a team at that level. The kid looked like a friggen video game out there.
50yd bomb, 50yd Run, truck a helpless safety who can never look his girlfriend in the eye again, another 50yd TD run.
It was insane
1. The FCS was the Best option for NDSU for a very long time.
2. As a general rule- the FCS sucks at football and has proven that is not committed to football at all.
3. It's time to go FBS
So what was said? Interesting that they would even follow a lowly FCS team. Did somebody on the show go to Butler? It's not like we beat Butler 83-0. And Trey's stats are great, but not a huge number of passes. Although the TD runs were very good. Just curious how this topic came up.
