New QB season, especially with the MVFC having so many senior QB’s last year.

J’Bore Gibbs goes into the Gopher game next week as the Jackrabbits’ starter. The 6’ 3” 230 RFr QB gets the nod over JR Kanin Nelson.

CARBONDALE, Ill. — Southern Illinois football head coach Nick Hill announced on Monday that sophomore Stone Labanowitz will be the team's starting quarterback. A third-year player who transferred to SIU from ASA Junior College (N.Y.) a year ago, Labanowitz will make his first-career Division I start on Aug. 29 at SEMO.

Nice RPO play by YSU and QB Nathan Mays passes for TD to tie Samford 7-7 in 1st quarter.

YSU looks very physical on D as usual.

SR QB Nathan Mays looks sharp running or passing down in the heat of Alabama. YSU up 24-7 less than a minute to go in 1st half.

Didn’t realize how bad he was injured last year (lower leg that needed surgery), but explains why they had an inconsistency issue at QBs.

Jackrabbit depth chart for Minnesota Gopher game - RFR QB J’Bore Gibbs gets his 1st start against an FBS opponent.
Game is Thursday night at 8:00 on FS1.

Gopher’s depth chart, including World’s largest Gopher:
    RT Daniel Faalele - 6’ 9” 400 - Melbourne Australia
    (much larger than Illinois State’s OT Drew Himmelman - 6’ 10” 315)

SDSU’s DLine will be tested by immense size of the Gopher OL.
They have to hope their LB’s, including Rozeboom (finally a senior),
can run around and make plays, if allowed to by the Jacks DL.

Maybe I shouldn't be surprised, but listening to Twin City's KFAN, you'd think that Minnesota is playing Butler tonight. Not trying to turn this into JackRabbit fan line, but I think SDSU will be tougher than they think.

Seeing some familiar names on Gophers 2-deep depth chart, players that NDSU offered:

    - Ko Kieft - TE - 6’ 4” 255 - Sioux Center IA

    - Brevynn Span-Ford - TE - 6’ 7” 270 - St Cloud Tech

    - Tyler Johnson - WR - 6’ 2” 205 - Minneapolis North

    - Boye Mafe - DE - 6’ 4” 260 - Hopkins

    - Phillip Howard - DB - 5’ 11” 195 - Robbinsdale Cooper

New qb...I don't see the Jacks being competitive for more than a half at best. I'm guessing SDSU loses by at least 20...probably a lot more.
