We had good offenses before Messingham too. They probably didn't "need" to call trick plays either. But football is a game and trick plays are fun for both players and fans.

Trick plays are neat when they work, especially in clutch situations. And hated when they don't.

I'd settle for Bison special teams recognizing the likelyhood of fakes at key points in high stakes games over more trick plays.
