Totally blows that he signed a Pro contract and burned his amateur baseball status. Would have been fun to see him at Newman. A grapefruit or desert league would be a fun way to spend the summer though so I get it. Plus your getting paid!

They should take those metal bats (Demarinis. etc) and shove them up the NCAA's ass. South Dakota high school baseball uses wood bats, as does amateur baseball. Runs scored are lower considerably. Games aren't 3 1/2 hrs long for a 7 inning game.

I wouldn't have a problem with metal bats if they had the exact same characteristics as a wood bat. They last longer and can save schools money.
