I believe he is still a commit but is shopping. I wouldn’t be surprised if he commits someplace else though.

No new offers posted on bisonreport.....just need to hope P5 stays away at this point we I'd bet we'd win G5 offers since we already have.

Dominic Gonnella reportedly signed a baseball contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks and would report to their camp next summer

Interesting, so he plans to try doing both huh? That'd be kind of cool to follow.

What’s the NCAA regulation with him signing a Pro contract and trying to play college football?

Kyler Murray and Russell Wilson both were drafted and signed mlb contracts and played college football.

Unfortunately for Gonella, MLB limited signing bonuses to $20,000 for undrafted free agents this year due to COVID. And also cut back from 40(?) rounds of drafting to 5 rounds. In previous years he could have tried for $100,000 from a team before it would count against their signing bonus cap. And if teams that either drafted him or wanted to sign him were willing to pay more than $100,000......great!

    batted .353 & 25 stolen bases in 67 games.
Gonnella plans to suit up as a running back for the Bisons in the fall then patrol the outfield for the Diamondbacks in the summer.

lets hope his success this spring will stop Gonella from signing & playing in Arizona this summer!!

I would comment I was very impressed with how Gonnella ran on Saturday. It appeared to me he had the lightbulb moment most young NDSU running backs have of hitting the hole hard, but then having the patience to let the block develop as you focus on north/south running. He was simply excellent and thought he looked as good as Davis from SDSU.
