Agreed...but, a bit surprised that Cam wasn't even on the MVFC Honorable Mention team. To say he isn't one of the top 4 QB's in the Valley is ridiculous.

I do think NDSU QBs in general are undervalued because they don't throw the ball much. I'm still very surprised Trey Lance was able to win a Payton Award - never figured any NDSU offensive player would put up the requisite numbers for that. But remember that Carson Wentz was never more than honorable mention all-MVFC. In 2014 he was beat out by Illinois State's Tre Roberson and Indiana State's Mike Perish. In 2015 he was beat out by SIU's Mark Ianotti and UNI's Aaron Baily (although Wentz was injured for a good chunk of that season).

I still think if Wentz was healthy for the entire 2015 season Wentz is easily 1st team MVFC QB and would have a great shot at the Walter Payton award.

I don't think we make the championship that year if Wentz was healthy. Team played like crap for him and they didn't give it their all until the young pup (Stick) needed help. Maybe they didn't play like crap, but everybody relied on Wentz to win it, and he wasn't getting the most out of his team.

Supposed to be a response to TABs Wentz statement.

Wasn't he already banged up with a bad ankle from Montana and uni too. He never plays well when he had some sort of injury seems like that is still the case a bit?

I find this to be an easy statement to make as we can't be revisionists and this is not to defend Wentz. Reality is teams can struggle coming back from winning championships and not have as much will to win as you see it all the time in college and the Pros until they are smacked in the face (ie Rams this year). This somewhat happened with our 2012 team in a similar way and they still went on to win a title after looking sleepy midway thru the year (loss to ISU Blue with Brock looking terrible for weeks). So to say we wouldn't have won with Wentz staying healthy is just kind of an easy way to place blame when none of us know if that would have happened.

This is like the theme of Wentz's career

Not to mention EVERYONE (with a few exceptions, not including TAB) here said/positioned that CW should start the Natty. See the contradiction?

You could have just as well all-capped/bolded “revisionists”.

Going down the rabbit hole a bit more, I’m not sure we win the Natty without CW, and I was pushing for Stick to start game.

Yep..........We didnt need Wentz to win it all.
