Probably not his final throw as a Bison. He will get invited to the U.S. Championships ... and anything he does there will be counted as Payton the Bison.
The qualifying standard for the shot put is 20.3m (66 feet and about 7 inches)
The qualifying standard for the discus is 60.75m (199 feet and about 4 inches)
So Payton has already qualified.
On the women's side, the qualifying standard for the shot put is 17.75m (58 feet and about 3 inches)
Moton is close, but not in.
Kari Wolf was close in the javelin too: 177 ft, she threw 172.

New Hayward ain't gonna look like old Hayward. Drove past the site a couple days ago and was not expecting that. I'm sure it will look great when finished, but it currently looks like the skeletal ribcage of some enormously massive, pre-historic sea-beast that died on its back.
Old Hayward was a relatively traditional complex; the new one is not.
