    The Florida Gators are rollin'!

    Junior Grant Holloway breaks the 13 second barrier in the 110 METER HIGH HURDLES!

    Broke Renaldo Nehemiah's 40 year old college record of 13.00 seconds.

    12.98 seconds.

    That is just sick!

    That was a great race, the kid from Kentucky clobbered 4 or 5 hurdles or he would have beaten Hollaway. 40 year old record falling is awesome accomplishment for Hollaway.

    Here's an interesting one:
    Christine Schmaltz (Watford City, ND prep standout) took 9th at the NCAA meet in 2011 running a college personal best of 2:05.09. (2nd Team All-American). Later that same month, she ran 2:01.17 (almost 4 seconds faster) at the USA Track & Field Championships in Eugene. It's documented on gobison.com as an NDSU record (don't ask me how because technically she had finished her NDSU career).

    Laura Hermanson took 2nd in the 800 at the national meet in.....2009, I think.
    The tradition is that college athletes get credit for races up to and including the USA Championships, I believe because at the Championships they represent their schools.
    Christine Schmaltz got the school record there. Laura Hermanson got her NDSU record in the 800m there - and yes, she got second in the outdoor 800m, the best showing by a Bison in the outdoor meet. On the mens side, the school record in the 1500m, the 3000m Steeplechase, the 800m were all set at meets between the end of the outdoor season and the USA Championships.

    That's just a whisper under 9.50 per 100 meter leg!!
    Also .... Holloway went under 13.00 in the 110m hurdles - went 12.98 - to break Renaldo Nehimiah's 1979 record (of 13.00).

    Payton misses first place by 2 inches in the discus.

    1st: Eric Kicinski from Texas Tech::::205' 2"

    2nd Payton Otterdahl::::NDSU::::205' 0"

    What a career for Payton Otterdahl!

    South Dakota junior Chris Nilsen came out on top in the toughest NCAA pole vault competition in history, going on to break his own NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship meet record – twice – in the process on Wednesday evening. Nilsen ultimately came away with his third national title with a personal best of 19 feet, 6 ¼ inches (5.95m).

    The Bison Men's Team Points total of 13 is the highest total for what would be considered a "small" school.
