native of Grand Rapids, Minn., Heaven Hamling played in 32 games as a freshman at Stephen F. Austin State. She averaged 5.4 points per game in 16.3 minutes per game. In her first collegiate game, she scored 15 points in 21 minutes against 24th-ranked Miami. She also scored 14 points against New Orleans and 12 points against McNeese. She hit at least two 3-pointers in 12 of the 32 games she appeared in, while ranking sixth in 3-point percentage (.418) in the Southland Conference. Hamling played at Grand Rapids High School, where she was a four-year letterwinner. She averaged 19.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.6 steals and 3.4 assists per game in her high school career. She was a three-time all-state selection and ranked among the top 15 players in the state of Minnesota as a senior. She was a top-five finalist for Miss Minnesota Basketball. With 2,783 points, she is the all-time leading scorer at Grand Rapids High School. She led her team to a third place finish at the 2018 Minnesota State Tournament.
