When it's third and ten, you can take the milk drinkers and I'll take the whiskey drinkers every time. -Max McGee
“I really thought you had to run the football to control the game,” Erhardt once said. “You had to throw the football to score but had to run the football to win.” - Ron Erhardt
Don't know what happened to Marcus Walton in the high jump. Looks like he never attempted a jump. Anyone know what an 'r' means in the attempt column?

And Bailey Demar missed qualifying by 4" in the triple jump(41' 6").
Thompson threw a Personal Best (PB) by about a foot
Talley threw a PB by a foot and a half.
They are peaking at the right time, and it looks like they are not intimidated by the boys from the big schools, which is what it takes to excel at the NCAAs.
Nice job by those two.
Akealy Moton threw a personal best to finish 2nd in the shot put(57' 1.5"). Bailey Retzlaff and Maggie Schwarzkopf finished 17th and 29th, respectively.
Quite a few jumps left to go to determine the final top-12, but Kelle'Mon isn't going to qualify in the triple. Just Kelby left to go in the 5000m.
And Kelby finished 13th in her heat and 23rd overall with a time of 16:11.48.
The final tally is 7 NDSU athletes that will be competing at nationals in 10 events.

Several men in the West Region who had better SHOT PUT marks than both Kristopher Thomsen (#16 going into the meet) and Alex Talley (#19 going into the meet) underperformed allowing those 2 Bison to qualify for the National Championships meet. As previously mentioned, Talley and Thomsen threw PR's.
Brett Neelly from Kansas State (#5) finished 16th.
Jonathon Tharaldsen from Minnesota (#6) finished 13th.
T'Mond Johnson from Texas State (#8) finished 17th.
Cooper Campbell from Oklahoma (#11) finished 18th.
Adam Kessler from Southern Illinois (#13) finished #33.
Clint Meyer from Cal State Northridge (#14) finished 15th.
Josh Johnson from Cal (#15) finished 18th.
The top throw coming out of the East Region on Saturday was by Denzel Comenentia from Georgia (66' 8")
On the Women's side, only the top 2 finishers in the East Region SHOT PUT threw further than NDSU's Akealy Moton.
She will be the 4 seed at the Championships Meet in Austin.
Getting into that final flight of 12 is sooooo important.
Anyone have info on how healthy (physically) all the Finals qualifiers are?
There have been a couple of posts on these bisonville pages about injuries - I assume minor, but while they don't keep one of competition, they typically interfere with someone reaching their maximums and their potential. How about sickness, and so on.
Best of luck to all the qualifiers. May they all have personal bests in the Finals.
