He set the wind legal record at 10.13 at state and ran a sub :45 split in the 4x400. Find the video online...amazing comeback.

The High School Records are a little confusing. Both T&FN (Track and Field News) and NFHS (National Federation of High Schools) have their lists. T&FN recognizes times run during the summer (after the state track and field meets are done), whereas it appears to me that NFHS does not recognize post-state meet times. Per the T&FN list, the fastest high school 100m is 10.00, run in July at the USATF Junior Championships. Bolling's 10.13, however, does best the NFHS time, which was 10.15. NFHS has not yet ratified Bolling's 10.13 as the new high school record.
Bolling's 44.74 split in the 4 x 400m would easily beat the old NFHS record of 45.19 - by a whopping 0.45 seconds - nearly a half-second. The T&FN record, set in the summer of 1982 (in July) is 44.69.
No matter how one cuts it, both these two times are great times. It will be fun to watch him develop as a college runner.
