When someone advertises on KVLY what percentage goes to NDSU? I have always thought all of that revenue went to the station. If that is true what difference does it make that you can't advertise on PBS?

For radio its 100% during broadcasts + 30% for all non football on Bison 1660. But for radio NDSU pays a fee.

For football the stations pay a guarantee and pays for the production and staff but pays a profit % over the guarantee that goes back to NDSU. It is between 15-35%

Midco had a lower percentage over guarantee and if they cant sell advertising on PBS, there wont be any revenue over the guarantee. And as their cable network is eventully wiped out by streaming TV... that's not a good long term revenue plan

With Midco you get all of south Dakota but that has little or no value

But the bottom line is NBC has way more viewers. More viewers = exposure and more advertising revenue

    This is all online btw

And reduce exposure to D2 levels? Reduce engagement of fans who donate and live out of state? Reduce the ability of recruits to see what the Fargodome atmosphere is about on ESPN3? I'm sure they would be pumped up by watching a road game at Indiana State. Reduce TV revenues by not selling them?

You both do realize you took the bait, don't you?

Imagine how great football games would be without so many media time-outs. They'd be done quicker too.

Televised games last 3:15 on average especially if they also involve replay. Our D3 games with no media timeouts or replay take 2:40. They did a couple things last year to try to shorten games but the main reason they are long is media timeouts and replay. I doubt they get rid of or shorten either of them.

Just commenting on Gabe talking about advertising as if it's the holy grail and I'm saying without it they wouldn't need the media timeouts. I know they won't actually go away.
