Yes, hopefully there will be good weather in Macomb - over 70 degrees, little to no wind, no rain. Kind of a bitch that the T & F season is over by May 10 for a lot of these athletes. The best weather up here does not get going typically until around that time or after. Assuming the athletes start peaking about the time of the Drake Relays, they could use at least one good weather meet to help them up their times, heights, and distances to get them into the Western Region NCAAs.

Forecast for the Summit Championships in Macomb, IL from May 8-10 (Wed-Fr) is mid-60s, slighly cooler with rain on Wednesday.

Actual weather today (Th) was temperatures in the high 40s (a high temperature of 50 for a brief time), 15mph winds, and overcast.
Significantly less than the forecast. Sigh ... for the athletes who are done after this meet. Poor weather the last three weeks when they were peaking, meaning they didn't get a decent opportunity to show how good they really are - especially the jumpers and runners.

There is still tomorrow, final day of the Summit Championships.

Chin up Rider, if the guys and gals can hold off the Jacks and Yotes tomorrow there will be plenty of celebrating among the Herds' throwers, leapers and runners. Those post conference keggers were awesome (especially after we won).

I don't know, that lead on the men's side is pretty tight after two days. (that was in jest, btw)

Otterdahl opted out of his last 3 throws. (finals)
Essentially, the win was locked up and likely didn't want to risk getting hurt for the regionals.

Hope there is good weather for the discus today.

Otterdahl, Thomsen, and Talley went 1,2,3 in the shot.

On the women's side, Moton, Retalaff, Schwartzkoph, Laufenberg, Willing go 1,2,3,4,& 5 in the shot and sophomore Rachel Bring grabbed the 8 spot for an additional team point.

Kelle' Mon Hinton PRd in the triple jump and took 2nd at the conference meet today.

    His 50' 4 1/2" moves him up to 3rd all-time at NDSU.

    Tony Ukkelberg took 6th.

Payton won the discus with a best throw of 193' 2". (12+ feet less than his school record)

A cool and cloudy 59 degrees in Macomb.

It certainly has ben a shitty outdoor season in terms of the weather.

Ukkelberg's Decathalon was a personal best for him. (The 2nd half of the D was on Th, temps in teh high 40s).
Nice job, and pretty darn impressive given the conditions. One of the few personal bests by anyone at the Summit Championships. Puts him around 30th best in the NCAAs this year. Should punch his ticket to the NCAA Western Regionals. If he can get a PB when conditions are crap, he should do well at the W. Regionals (if his confidence is good).
