Thread: 2019 Outdoor Season

    Default 2019 Outdoor Season

Outdoor season kicked off this weekend and off to a solid start!!

Throwers on Friday had a nice day down in Tempe AZ:
    Women's Hammer:
Amy Herrington PR (+7 feet) #3 all time and wins the hammer (206'05")
Hannah Frost PR #4 all time (202' 6")
Bailey Retzlaff PR and #7 all time (197' 8")

    Men's Hammer:
Payton Otterdahl PR (+20 freaking feet!!!) #2 all time (220' 1")
Alex Talley PR #7 all time (202' 8")

    Men's Shot Put:
Alex Talley PR #4 all time (61' 2.25")
Kristoffer Thompson PR (first outdoor as he is a freshman) #7 all time (60' 0.5")

    Women's Javelin:
Kari Wolfe takes 3rd with 162' 2" (not a PR)
Akealy Moton PR (first outdoor meet...glad she left UND bball!) #5 all time (157' 1")

I don't think anyone can debate the impact of St. Clair as a coach for throws. We should do a damn fund drive for track money! LOL

Down in Florida, we are also showing up with personal records and cracking into the NDSU top ten.

Amanda Levin in her final outdoor season jumps a PR of 20' 0.25" to be 5th all time in long jump

Brandon Lewis long jump PR 24' 0.75" to rank 10th all time.

Payton wins the MEN'S DISCUS today at ASU and broke his own school record.

    Record was: 195' 0".

    Today, he threw 196' 8".

    Last year's NCAA outdoor champion threw 198' 2".....2nd was 193' 5"......Payton was 10 in 2018 at 182' 0".

Does anyone know why Brandon Lewis isn't participating in the LONG JUMP at the Husker Invitational?

He jumped 24' 7 3/4" at the Teas State meet last weekend moving up to 5th All-Time at NDSU.

    Hope he isn't hurt.

    This is nice to see....

A Bison sprinter posting a great time in the 200 METER DASH.

    J. T. Butler takes 2nd at the Husker Spring Invite with a time of 20.94!

That gives him a new PR and he takes the # 4 spot on the NDSU All-Time List (up from # 7).

He is the first Bison sprinter to go sub 21 seconds since 2004.

Michael Keogan also PRd taking 3rd with a throw of 59' 8 1/4".

Otterdahl and Talley did not throw the shot today.

Bison Men's & Women's Track scheduled to participate in the University of Minnesota Spring Open track meet this Friday and Saturday.

Pending storm could pound the Twin Cities with a lot of snow Thursday and Friday.

Could be interesting. Wonder if they would consider moving it to Saturday/Sunday.
