OK. We're going to need to put up a statue of him now.

20 team points puts the Bison into 2nd.

Of course.....that won't hold up, but really good to see the team leader board with NDSU in 2nd.

Since I don't really follow T & F, I was gonna ask how rare it is to win both events. Twitter answered it for me..

He would probably pick it up and throw it into Minnesota maybe even Wisconsin.

That's awesome! Have we ever had a D1 national champion, outside of football?

Maddy Nilles finished the WOMEN'S WEIGHT THROW in 12th place (67' 2") missing the finals by 20 inches.

Her best throw of the indoor season, 71' 4 1/4" would have been good for 5th had she matched it today.

Great segment on the ESPN3 feed. Two different interviews with Payton and video replay of his winning WT heave from earlier today.

Actually this is the first Division I Championship in all sports. Laura Hermanson took 2nd in the 800. Football has won several FCS Championships.

Sorry that was for Bucky Maughn. He called IAA "Division I Jr." and the rest of us have to live in the real world. So this is our first Real World Championship.

    Anyone watching the feed?

Bison fans gotta cheer against Texas A & M in the final event of the meet.....the 1600 meter relay. They are the 2 seed going in and have 11 team points. If they win it....they will pass NDSU by 1 in the team point standings......so, 2nd is OK...just don't want them to win it,

Wisconsin will pass NDSU (currently tied with the Bison for 7th) unless Wisconsin's two studs in the 3,000 DQ......not gonna happen.

Stanford will also likely pass NDSU after the 3,000.

Indiana COULD pass the Bison with an upset in the 3,000.

I think that the Bison will likely finish in 9th in the team standings...…….I think...….

So, as expected, Wisconsin and Stanford passed NDSU with the 3,000 meter results scoring 10 and 8 respectively.

The Indiana runner did not place high enough to score the points needed to pass the Bison.
