Throw # 3 for Payton Otterdahl in the SHOT PUT………….
71' 6 3/4" !!!!
Otterdahl finishes the competition (6th throw) with a 71 footer...21.62 meters...…..so technically, 70.93 feet.
Bison men go 1,2,3, & 4 in the SHOT PUT.
Otterdahl, Talley, Thomsen and Keogan.
That is correct. Payton's 71' 6-3/4" is the all-time collegiate best throw ever in the shot put.
The former best was 71' 3-1/2" held by two athletes, Ryan Whiting (2008, Arizona State) and Ryan Crouser (2016, Texas)
Amazing job Payton. Bison be proud.
Used to be that the men's distance runners at NDSU had the best historical marks (on average) starting in the early 1960s.
NDSU's first national champions, and so on. No one, however, has had the all-time collegiate best before. This is epic.
Gonna be tough to get the team title. Too much in the distance events left on the table for the Jacks. May come down to the 4x4. Looks like Sam Zenner won teh 200, gotta be related to Zach of footbal fame. Yep just updated, team title out of reach now. The women are absolutely crushing it though.
Way to go Forum.
An NCAA record is set in shotput and it is worthy of being the last article on the last page in the sports section.
Women win 12 straight conference titles....
What is front page? NDSU men Basketball loss.
History was made yesterday...in the forum it is an afterthought.
