As are 7 of the 8 that I just described (in the HOF).

There are a lot of great backs that are over 6 foot tall also, no doubt, but Snowgoose's overall point was well taken, IMO.

Except for the use of the word most.

He said most of the all time great RBs in the NFL, which could be argued that his list is smaller than around 50 or so backs (RBs, HBs, FBs) listed in the NFL HOF. Of the Top-25 rushers of all time (statistically - http://www.espn.com/nfl/history/leaders/_/stat/rushlead), only 12 make the list, with the first coming in at #8 (Adrian Peterson). In this case, he would be correct.

Of the 50 or so backs in the NFL, I think about 26 are six foot or taller and many played in 70s or prior. In this case he would be wrong.

It just depends on what he meant in reference to "all-time great RBs in the NFL."

I would dare say that his use of the term "most" is more specific and understandable than your use of the term "boatload".

I am a cpa and when I use most I am being very specific, jk. My memory just serves that for the most part there are more six feet and under backs and that is why guys like Adrian or Eddie George are more abnormal than normal. Too many people focus on height.

Funny thing is in the 90 and early 2000’s nobody wanted small receivers. Now people are finding out they are quicker with their routes and in some ways tougher to defend in the slot.

Long for the days of freezing in the south stands of Dacotah Field.

I don’t care how tall they are. I just want em to be as durable as say, Easton Stick.

Defenders could play more physical against receivers back then. Rule changes have really goosed the passing offense.
