That may have been the year my sister & brother-in-law did not make it out of Fargo. Very disappointing for them, but the chance you take if you fly on Friday.

We are driving to Mpls in the am (with 4 other guys) & departing on AA at 11:04. One of the guys texted me this afternoon, & asked if I would help him get a flight out tomorrow!
Of course he also needed game tickets. Last minute chaos! We have the usual group of approx 20+ families staying at the Comfort in Frisco. Excited to see everyone. It's been a whole 3 weeks!

    Haha.

In cases like today if I was heading down...I'd try to find a way to go from KC to Joplin then to Little Rock and come in from the east. Ain't nobody got time for an ice storm...especially in a state with 5 salt trucks.

Looks like kc>joplin>fort Smith Arkansas then west to highway 75 takes you right into the metroplex and you avoid central Oklahoma

Just about to pass Wichita. Looks like terrible timing to hit OKC but what can we do about it. Dad has taken the reins as he wants to be the one responsible for any damage to his truck. I'm cool with sleeping as much as possible. Will update later with road conditions

I am so sick of the Bison already. Win this, win that, blah, blah, blah. I'd really, really like to know how they do it. I swear they have to be the luckiest sob's on the planet. Just sick of this bs, just fed up.

Just passed through OKC before rush hour so that was a blessing. Rain is freezing to everything but the roads for now. Saw five pickups that slammed into the jersey barriers or other vehicles.

Ran into a bunny fan at hotel this morning. They are headed to Texas but not the game. They wished NDSU good luck and win it for the conference again.
Looking at getting out on the road by 7:00 from OKC area.

37 degrees in Bismarck this morning and the Bismarck airport screams green and gold.

We drove through yesterday and it looked like they pretreated in some areas as we passed through on I-35. That might be why it is not icing on the road. But it was raining all the way to Dallas.

They often pretreat the bridges and overpasses. They tend to rely on retained earth heat for the rest of the road since its usually not prolonged below freezing. Since its been hovering around that freezing point it’s mostly the bridges and overpasses that will ice.

The Weather Channel is live in OKC and said this morning that the freeways/interstates have been pretreated.
