The Stockyards in Fort Worth are a good place for that. There is even a bar that looks out onto an arena with a live rodeo, can't remember what its called.

Been in Dallas 4 years, had some friends that talked about this place in the same way I do Bison football. They went every Thursday night until close and still somehow showed up at work every Friday. Never been and it’s not my cup of tea, but you may want to check it out:

Ahhhh Billy Bobs. Last time I was there was in the late seventies. Not only did they have the rodeo ring but there was a Cadillac dealership in there too. Dance floor was huuuuuuuge and those Texas girls sure were nice.

    Default country western bar

Hanks in McKinney, but I can’t vouch for that weekend...they have some good acts on other weekends.

Love and war in Texas has live music.

    Adair’s saloon has live music.

Sons of Hermann hall is an old timey honky tonk, but not sure about this weekend. Great band the next weekend.

Southern junction out in Rockwall / Royse City

Farther away in ft worth is the white elephant saloon.

The week after new year looks a little tough for bands I am familiar with, although there are some great bands for a number of weekends after the game.
