That's it? Good grief the hyper sensitivity is out of control. It's amazing how few media outlets fail to mention the dude tested positive for meth & fentanyl. There will be no problem at all at state universities at least.
Just like you can't penalize folks for making tasteless jokes, you can't penalize them for taking a knee. Just a bit more nuanced, but almost certainly protected.
I actually wouldn't have a huge problem with this.
While professional athletes have zero right to make game day an opportunity for political statements. Students are different.
