The only reason some people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

Nah- my point is they weren’t that good last year. Take a look at the schedule and who they beat. Got by Michigan when they were getting legs under them with some new key players.
Kinda like Jacksonville state talking crap till they get punched in the mouth.
Sagarin had Notre Dame finish 7 based largely on the Michigan win.
NDSU finished 19. If anything is preposterous it is the Golden Dome arrogance thinking they kick NDSU around.

They had the #13 strength of schedule in the country in 2018. That's not shabby. 8 of the 12 above them were SEC teams which collectively boost each other's SOS. The other 4 were Michigan, Texas, Oklahoma, and Clemson. That's all pretty good company.
I've been on the field with both NDSU and Notre Dame. It is night and day. That doesn't mean NDSU couldn't beat them on any given day, but they are still an excellent program and have been solid for the past 4-5 years. Clemson and Alabama have made a lot of really good teams look average.
Yeah same with ball state.
Strength of schedule upped quite a bit with how Michigan finished and playing Clemson
