My guess, based on experience (not me personally), he was prescribed medication that would trigger a positive test and the proper paperwork was not completed. I’ve seen/heard this happen with Olympic athletes before and USADA isn’t very forgiving regardless.

No, if they did, we would know what athletes got popped and from what once the b-sample verified the a-sample.

I believe the NCAA and their institutions do their own testing and can keep the results under secret if a suspension occurs.

If you’re a World-Class Athlete, USADA is not an organization you want to ignore. Failing to notify them of a trip can lead to a strike if they decide to show up at your house, work, practice facility, etc. for a surprise test.
