I recall CB's wife saying that it was because of the demographics of WYO and the lack of Nordic/German stock - Not enough big lads in the region. Not sure if this is true but it is an interesting premise, and one that would demand recruiting outside of your 'footprint' to be successful.

It was one of the coaches who said that, cant remember if it was Fuchs or Stanard. Basically said we are the land of Vikings

Nordic/German stock? I think NDSU's coaching staff should visit Samoa for linemen.

Speaking of Wyoming -- Sam Ojuri just took a position on the Cowboys staff. Sam is definitely developing himself as a legit college football coach... I wish him nothing but the best, and hope he joins the Bison Staff sometime during his career.

Not that I would mind seeing a big Samoa player come to NDSU. We sure as hell don’t need them with the Nordic/German stock that we have judging by the success that our lineman have had.

This is true + you'd have to find a Samoan player that would brave the Great White North. Stick with recruiting the Nordic folks. ;-)

As far as I know, only 1 Samoan has played for the Bison.

    Yuen Taufete'e: 6' 0" 295 pound DT in 2008 and 2009.
