Payton Otterdahl wins the Weight Throw (at the SDSU Indoor Classic) with yet another NDSU indoor record.

His winning throw of 78' 11 1/4" widens his lead as the nation's top performer to date.

This record is 1' 3" further than the one that he set in January.

And according to Wikipedia this is the 16 or 17 best throw of all time.

Erin Teschuk, who graduated from NDSU about 3 years ago, ran the 3000m in the Husky Classic.

She ran a 9:24, good for about 30th place overall. Quite a few runners in the fastest heat ran sub 9:00.
Erin's best at NDSU was 9:02. It is early in the season for the non-collegiate runners, who generally aim for peaking in July/August. So training likely is not yet optimized for great times.

Bison men have moved up to number 15 in Indoor Track & Field.
This is the highest ranking ever achieved by an NDSU T & F team.

Maddy Nilles won the WEIGHT THROW for the Bison women's team today at the UND Tune-Up meet.

She threw 71' 4 1/4" breaking the school record that she set earlier this season by 6 1/2 inches.

She didn't move up in the rankings (still the 11th best throw in the country this year. Moved to within one-half inch of the 10th spot.

The top throw in NCAA competition thus far in 2019 is 77' 1 3/4" by Sade Olatoye of Ohio State.

Kelsey Laufenberg finished 2nd in the WEIGHT THROW (behind NDSU's Nilles)

She established a new PR for herself throwing 64' 11 1/4" (8 inches better than her previous best).

She moves up 1 spot to #5 on the All-Time NDSU Indoor Performance List.

Lexy Wittmeyer - injured all of last year. I have not seen her in any T & F news yet this year.
Anyone know what the story is here. She is another really good jumper.

Laura Roesler - Fargo South grad, 15-time or so All-American at Oregon.

She ran a 1:59.80 on February 8 at the Hemory Valentine meet. First time she has gone under 2:00 indoors, and I think it puts her at #11 all-time for U.S. women indoors at 800m. She is off to her best start ever for a track season. The all-time best in 800m is 1:58.60, set this year. Prior to that it was 1:58.64.

Last year, for the entire track season, she could not get under 2:00. Had quite a few races between 2:00 and 2:01, so a disappointing season for her. Getting under 2:00 this early is an important mental barrier. Glad she got there.
