We just built a 50M+ IPF with private dollars. Quit pretending that NDSU and NDSU fans could scrape together a few bucks to float the teams travel costs for 3 years before the MWC or other G5 conference invites us. That narrative is simply not based in reality lol. Also didnt they just raise over a half of a BILLION dollars of endowment?? lol

NDSU would be able to fill its schedule- SOMEHOW, every team in FBS fills out a schedule every year! Its like magic or something, how do they do it? Magnets, how do they work?

OF COURSE going straight to a good conference is the most ideal path by a hundred miles, but if the only way to get there is 3x travel costs for 1-5 years, that is a SMALL price to pay to get out of this rotting shit hole of a sub division. It would take a lot, yes, but lets not pretend that teams like Umass can do it, but us simpletons in Fargo are just too f*cking dumb and poor and stupid to figure out how to get this done.

Yeah we are not getting an invite because we are in the FCS! FBS independent or FCS……. Our geography doesn’t change! No one wants a football only member!!!!!

UMass is the poster child for why this doesn't work well.

They have essentially:
- no media deal
- no bowl games
- no players
- no fans
- no FBS wins (they did beat stony brook this year, yay)

For all this greatness, they fly to places like NMSU for games.
And even those games will be tougher to get now that they joined a conference.

Oh, and this is a team that was pretty darn good in FCS.
Now even CUSA doesn't want them ... they begged and pleaded for an invite.

Anyone who desires what UMass has is not thinking clearly.

This is the option that everyone pretends simply does not exist. There was no path for Liberty, and poof, an exemption was granted. They literally said, we want FBS but no invite- and NCAA said "ok".

If geography is the "only" thing preventing normal G5 Conferences from inviting NDSU, would we not have a case for an appeal? I think very clearly you could prove in a court of law that we are more "deserving" of getting an invite to G5 conferences than probably 28 of the last 30 teams to jump- if not for geography. I think you could make a convincing case to get a special exemption made.

For the NCAA to say "no" to that appeal would be to say "North and south dakota are simply not allowed to have an FBS team because of their geography... but Wyoming, Nebraska and Hawaii are. sorry losers." I dont buy it. I dont believe that the NCAA is secretly colluding to prevent our state from having an FBS team. If we can show sufficient effort to solicit an FBS invite, and no invite, It is my belief NCAA will grant an exemption to go indy. (I dont think we've shown even 1 pushup worth of effort to go FBS, but I hope I'm wrong)
