We will most likely be worse next year after Nelson transfers out which will be really sad cause I really like Nelson and he is from ND so it makes it even better, but I can’t see him returning.

Sure it can. It has and it will. ML has proven he's comfortable with crap. Exhibit A: the unilateral dead-of-the-night contract extension. An 8th grader's basketball mind could see the problems with Richman. It takes willful ignorance, devoid of any sophistication or nuance, to focus solely on Richman's total win-loss record without any context. Some apologists on this board are experts at doing this. Apparently they are also big donors, because that's who ML has listened to. Now, ML could fire Richman today and it would still be too late. NDSU's basketball brand was ascending several years ago. Now we're at depths that even Balrogs wont go.

How much would it take to get Saul out of Aberdeen?

DR I gave the benefit of doubt for a few years, but like others, it is just the same old same old, he can get us into Summit League championships. It would be nice to get someone of Saul's fire and personality back on the bench. Who knows maybe this time he'd stick around after winning in the tournament. How did I miss Tim Miles went to SJSU?

My impulse is never to recycle coaches. Because I want NDSU to focus on up and coming coaches. But I would not be upset at all if Saul came back.

I'm lowkey worried about the portal regardless of the coach. There are 300+ teams and very few of them are in less desirable places to live.
