The other is because SDSU is unsurprisingly sleepwalking through the conference. Last Sagarin rating I saw had SDSU at 77...

...which brings me to my next point that what SDSU is doing this year should be what we are shooting for as a program given our fan base, facility and financial investment. We have not been there since Dave has been head coach.

I'm a FB first guy, but also wonder if some funds could be thrown towards BBall to help and possibly increase the overall profile of NDSU because let's face it MBBall winning Tourney games garnered more national recognition than FB winning FCS and thats not even debatable. Hell taking Kansas to the wire in 09 did also, and oh playing DUKE also.

What do the other MVC and MWC schools spend on BBall? I feel NDSU could easily be in the 4-5M range

    Maybe I'm totally off

I'm at the games. I buy a taco in a bag. How much more do they want from me?

Fair enough. I’m not sold on Dave and feel like better scheduling would expose his weaknesses even more. That being said, without increased funding it will be very difficult to find an upgrade over Dave. I personally believe that our minimal funding of basketball is even more criticizable than an FBS move or lack there of. The leadership has much more control over that than an FBS move.

Can someone show where NDSU was consistently a Top 12 Conference?
I sure don’t remember that. What were the rankings for the last 10-15 years?

On the good news front, St Thomas may be hurting the average this season, but they have a very nice recruiting class coming in next season……

The MidCon/Summit has always been in the bottom third of D1 conferences. It's a long ways from being a league that could get multiple bids but it's good enough to get its champ onto the 12 line (which is where SDSU likely ends up if they don't choke again in Sioux Falls).
