We have been getting killed down low this year on defense by not sending a double team once in a while. They back us down for a easy 5 foot shot. Send a double team..... Also we have to be the worst defense for pick and roll. Dave hangs his hat on defense and that is not cutting it this year.

Yeah, I just couldn't fathom how they continued to let Griesel get owned by #44 for WIU in the post... didn't send a double team to help even one time. It wasn't like WIU is the type of 3 point shooting team that SDSU is either.

im guessing he's assuming they just graduate. maybe they have a covid extra year and don't take it?

A new coach could bring in 4-5 of his own guys and really ramp this program up to be honest after this year.

No, we’ve been right, it’s just that you’ve taken longer to see it. Our regression has been hidden by the slow, epic demise of the summit. “Dave just performs well when it counts in conference” people been saying it for years. Yeah, cuz the summit has gone from a top 12-13 conference to #25. Remember when we used to laugh at the Big Sky? Ha, wow they’d eat the Summit’s lunch this year.

There’s a reason why when they’ve polled all coaches in the summit, NDSU is their #1 destination. Dave has done well in conference, I think any good coach should be able to replicate that. I think we need to be shooting for higher than that and I’ve never thought Dave was capable of getting us there.

Yet people are suggesting we throw money into the wind to get a solid HC? You know, because we have culture. How about bringing a solid coach in and give him or her incentive contract to actual promote building a culture better than what we currently have for “culture”? NDSU MBB has really never had a sustained winning culture—>let’s be honest about that.
