3.) DR doesn't have a Tim Miles personality which makes him hard to like when he loses games or has a kid transfer out. Doesn't matter if that kid is Grant Nelson or that kid is a total cancer to the team. Easy to point the finger at DR because he seems so unlikeable to the fans.
4.) Couldn't stand his effing wheel offense that he use to run...
5.) Hate when he says trust the process and talks about culture.
6.) I don't think he would be here right now if it wasn't for the pandemic. There were openings at bigger schools that he was qualified for but most hired internally.
7.) I think most of the DR major haters on here are great for the program and great for college athletics. If we didn't have you...we wouldn't have people that care and therefore, we wouldn't have fans or a program.
8.) Do I think any of us has a clue what goes on inside that locker room...no, we don't. We like to think we do via the media and through other people who pretend to have connections to the program. Again, it is what makes this fun and athletics great.
9.) You could compile a top 3 list of candidates...realistic candidates that you could get to take this job and within 12 months we have have a thread asking, Has (insert coaches name) run this program into the ground?

Good Post. I too, in the past have been accused of sleeping next to Richman at night. I don't take it as well as you do. I'll add a couple more musings to your list:
    10. While I support DR, I have a lot of frustrations with his stubborness and inability to adapt at times, although it seems this year he has relented and we operate much more player-friendly offensive sets, that the kids enjoy playing in (see transfer portal). We no longer hold and wait for a look...if you have a clear look at the rim, let it go. I like this and see it as a positive step.
    11. There are teams all over the country that would give their left nut to win 20 games/season. We just did that again and have a few nice wins in there that would keep us off the 16 line should we complete DR's magical quest of "3 Games in March"...which BTW, he's not wrong about - this is the reality for anyone in the SLC.
    12. Fans are Fans. What pisses me off is the fly-by-nighters who drop in and talk shit without ever having watched a game or attended a game. KU is ready to run Bill Self out of town (which is crazy), but at least those fans show up religiously, are invested unlike any other fan base and expect greatness. Threads like this are fine, but you should, at the very least know what you are talking about because you've watched the team play.
    13. Unfriendly Coaches can still be successful. I have the good fortune of working with a lot of coaches and many of them are deemed "pricks/jerks/assholes" - they are some of my favorites off the court. We've just been spoiled with great personalities like Tim Miles and Saul Phillips (Hendo and Kian also to some extent).
    14. I am EXCITED for the SLC...it's wide open anyone 1-5 has a legit shot at winning it.

A fair, reasonable post like this won’t get you too far around here…

we were well below .500 when we had the play in game in 2019 (i think it was 2019)

    I'd say a 15 or 16 seed most likely.

If we get a 16, it would be cool to get matched up with Alabama and play against Grant.

Or, get Duke again, and watch Cooper Flaag make us look silly.
thx wolfie! sooooooooooooo is 15 our absolute best case? any possibility for a 14? i see first round sites at MILWAUKE-WITCHITA-DENVER i like our path in sioux falls - SU is the only team in the summit that has a chance in the BIG DANCE

Unlikely for a 14 seed IMO

I'd say 15 is most likely, based on our win/loss record.

SDSU was a 15 seed last year with 13 losses, so we'd be a bit better than that, but I don't see a 14 seed happening. Too many losses for a small conference team and no quality wins.

We have one really good win.

    @ #53 Santa Clara

Probably a 15 though, maybe a 14 depending on what happens in various tournaments.
NDSU to the FBS always. In all ways.
