Regardless of how a person fells about an FBS move, in terms of football programs, the G5 schools (at least the bottom half) are closer to NDSU's peers than all but the tippy top of FCS.

My take, honestly I'm surprised coach K wasn't hired away last year, so this year is gravy. He deserves it and good luck to him.

My concern is can Matt Larson make the right personnel decision to keep the train rolling? Call me crazy, but I'm not super confident on that front.

K State’s strength and conditioning coach, Chris Dawson, is one of the best in the game. Remember when KU suddenly exploded onto the scene around 2007 and dam near made a national championship game appearance? He was the strength and conditioning coach. KSU snatched him up. He’s also very well compensated for what he does.

I don’t think he’d be fired upon Klieman getting this job.
