Part of me has hope. 75% he goes 25% he stays and the Oregon option with ties is the one they go with.

My gut says this is a done deal and they're holding off officially offering him so he can say he hasn't been offered. It's just a matter of when it's official. Best case is they have their current staff recruit and let Coach K finish out the season, but maybe that's wishful thinking.

There are two reasons I think this is possible. One, they have already taken a long time on this after it was obvious Coach S was retiring. Two, the relationship between Gene and Chris.

Should be interesting.

I do believe the exact words that Klieman used was that he hadn't been offered that HE KNEW OF.


His agent may know more at this moment. I also think its a done deal and both Coach and Gene have been through the @#$# show that transpired last time and are working a plan that is in place as they both have had many thoughts I am sure on how it could have been handled better the last time.

No! The longer this drags out, the better. That likely means they want him but they're working to cause as little disruption as possible here. If he takes it soon (and that may very well happen), it will become a larger distraction, even though Chris will handle it as best he can.
