Not sure what happened back in the transition era but GT also wasn’t the AD of a school in the BIG12. May not quite be comparing apples to apples here. Food for thought.

True, but he still stuck his neck out on the chopping block. Another comment he made in that post-2013 video was along the lines of "I had to stop myself as I was typing my letter of recommendation to go D1 and say to myself 'You know Gene, if you go for this and it doesn't work out... it could be a real short career'".

At least at this point he's established enough in the profession to have a pretty decent fallback option if this hire blows up in his face in a few years.

I think its greatly exaggerated but I didnt follow it as closely as I do now. I know pre D1, late 90s / early 2000s I wasnt very excited and lost interest. We moved up and scheduled the Gophers in 2006 I was pretty fired up.

Watch near the end of that 2013 season recap and Klieman says something related to Bohl leaving and how his time would also be limited. Can't recall the exact words, but it struck me that it was odd to say at the beginning of his role as head coach.

Kleiman’s wikipedia page lists him as the head coach of K State.

Anyone can edit a Wikipedia page.
The only reason some people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

I've fixed it twice today. Dumbasses keep vandalizing it.
