Griesel and Knotek. Remember those names. They will be big in the future. Rocky looked dominant (as he should). Wilson was always a head scratcher for me and after the game, still is. Ward shows brilliance with the ball until it comes time to finish the play, specifically in the paint. And then he looks like me trying to play. And frankly, that's kind of been the problem with the Bison for a few years. Guys get themselves within 5 feet of the basket and just can't finish. I get they're fouled or are making a move, but how is that not worked on in practice? Tons of guards with promise. Future looks bright, just not sure I want Richman at the helm.

I am so sick of the Bison already. Win this, win that, blah, blah, blah. I'd really, really like to know how they do it. I swear they have to be the luckiest sob's on the planet. Just sick of this bs, just fed up.

I would expect them to lose big to NMSU and the fanbase start freaking out like usual. They may very well be a better team than NMSU by the end of the year though.

I know Samuelson started, but any thoughts on him and Quayle and their role on this team moving forward> They are both considerable less athletic than the new guys and I hope if the young guys have potential they aren't riding pine for skim milk experience.

I don't believe Quayle saw the floor last night, at least not that I can remember and my guess is unless an injury or foul trouble situation occurs he probably won't. Samuelson is a workhorse, a sniper from 3 and a team captain. He can be a liability on defense but with the athleticism we have this year he's a great complimentary piece for the drive and dish game. His playing time will be dictated by matchups a bit but I wouldn't be surprised if he starts all year.

I like Samuelson off the bench, can bring in instant shooting and a stabilziing presence but I do agree if the team is going to take the next step Richman is going to need to go all in with the young/new guys.

NMSU has been a good mid major for several years now with good athletes.

Samuelson will end up being a 3 pt specialist off the bench. Quale may not play much as the season progresses. A lot of bodies at the wing.

I was very impressed with these two players last night. Curious to see what coach does as far as red-shirting them this year. I almost think that Griesel has to play this year given he is a wider and bulkier body and our razor thin size and depth in the front court. Knotek has a silky smooth shot and release and overall game for that matter and will be a huge part of the offense down the road. As far as Samuelson, key sniper that this team needs and should see decent minutes whether starting or not. His defense is gradually improving and a great nose for the ball in the rebounding game. Can see him playing a decent share of minutes during the meat of the game and then a lot offense for defense substitutions with him late in close games. Ward is still learning and I project he will continue to improve his finishing ability as the season progresses. Would be nice to see him add another 10 lbs of muscle however as he seems a little stagnant as far as developing physically which would also improve his finishing ability. If this team plays uptempo we have enough athletic and talented wings to play 9-10 deep this year and wear teams out. If we are knocking down 3's consistently like this team is capable of a great year. If coach plays that offense we seen in second half of passing the ball around the perimeter and hoisting up garbage at the end of the shot clock going to be a rough year and very hard to watch.
