Soooo, can you name one of those P5 wins? The last one I see for App State was against Michigan back when they were in FCS

    Year TeamId Result
    2008 LSU L 13-41
    2010 Florida L 10-48
    2011 Virginia Tech L 13-66
    2013 Georgia L 6-45
    2014 Michigan L 14-52
    2015 Clemson L 10-41
    2016 Miami (FL) L 10-45
    2016 Tennessee L 13-20
    2017 Georgia L 10-31
    2017 Wake Forest L 19-20
    2018 Penn State L 38-45

And GSU beat Florida before they were in FBS too (their first FBS year was 2014):

    Year TeamId Result
    2014 Georgia Tech L 38-42
    2015 West Virginia L 0-44
    2015 Georgia L 17-23
    2016 Georgia Tech L 24-35
    2016 Mississippi L 27-37
    2017 Auburn L 7-41
    2017 Indiana L 17-52
    2018 Clemson L 7-38

NDSU v P5 in the same time frame:

    Year TeamId Result
    2014 Iowa State W 34-14
    2016 Iowa W 23-21

Georgia Southern and Appalachian State are basically the NJ Generals for the P5 Globetrotters.

You're really not giving those teams enough credit. Over the past few years they have been playing competitive ball with some of the biggest P5 teams. Sure they haven't been winning (hence your Washington Generals comment) but they have been getting better and better. You could argue during the same time frame that NDSU could have done at least as well as they have in the FBS and against the P5. The difference is that Appy State and GSU have the opportunity to prove their worth while NDSU (no matter what we do) does not have that opportunity and in comparison plays a MUUUUUCCCCCCHHHHH weaker schedule

NDSU’s schedule is not much weaker than those schools.

Sagarin has Sun Belt East ranked 14th and Sun Belt West ranked 21st. Meanwhile, the MVFC is ranked 18th. So, I'm not sure which team(s) have a tougher schedule, but since NDSU doesn't play themselves, I would naturally give App State and GSU a slightly tougher schedule. However, according Sagarin's schedule rankings, NDSU has a tougher schedule (NDSU is 128th, App State is 133rd and GSU is 159th).

Therefore, you are correct that NDSU's schedule is not much weaker. Instead, their's appears to be stronger.

#25 App State just went down bad to Georgia Southern.

App should never have been ranked that high.

NDSU is a better team than APP. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Georgia Southern Spread Option Football - Out weighed but seldom out played! Of course, GSU doesn’t run the Spread anymore – but still!

Stop thinking, GSU and App would be the only threat to NDSU this year!

I still wonder how the 10-1 2006 and 2007 teams would have done in the playoffs, those were years two and three of App State's threepeat.
