Getting to be a RB in the NFL is extremely tough. Being a RB in today's NFL for more than a year or two takes a special type of talent.

Exactly. One has to be very athletically elite and have great endurance/athletic ability and strength, both mentally and physically. Rare breed of people that can do it.

Good observation on your part, but I’m sure you’ve seen what I mean given what you do and have experienced.

No personal experience in regards to football (was too small growing up to play). The closest thing I can come to was training with those who had the ability to win World/Olympic Medals. The level of athleticism, determination and mental toughness to get to that level is much higher than what I had, and no, I wasn't a slouch in any of those departments either.

That’s what I’m getting at. Not sure people understand how much it takes and requires to be at the level we are talking about. Look at Emanuel for example. Great player, did his thing in NFL, but realized Father Time was catching up. And then consider RBs or other players who are in NFL “forever”. The beating they take and endure is crazy, and something none of us here could take or nor understand. Professional/Olympic sports are incredibly/physically taxing. For those who have an historical career at them is amazing. But reduces life-expectancies by years, so to each their own and whether it’s worth it to them.

Boy isn’t that the truth. Even playing RB and getting through college is quite an accomplishment. I didn’t play any big college ball by any means and my shoulders are shot.

The Colts only had 2 heathy running backs at the end of last week's game so I was hoping he'd get a chance.

I have Olympic level skills in getting from my recliner to the beer drawer in my fridge. I once stepped on my kid's Lego on the way, kicked out my foot in pain, but unfortunately kicked the corner of the oven and bent back my big toenail on my left foot. (That's my good foot, mind you.)

    Recovery was a bitch.
    Insert something clever here...
