I think you are confused. The IPF is privately funded. This project is on 64th Ave S and is for public use soccer, hockey, volleyball, basketball, running etc. The public couldn't use it if the Bison are practicing there and besides that's a 45 minute drive from campus and it's not nearly tall enough

The Green and The Gold Collective is excited to announce our #DriveToFive membership campaign. The goal of this campaign is to get to 500 monthly members. Reaching this goal will help us provide financial support to NDSU student athletes, including every returning member of the football team that saw action on the field last year!

We already raised the money for phase 1, which is the IPF structure. I donated to the IPF and I have no desire to put it into some lame off campus joint project with the park district. The bubble would be better than that.
You need an IPF to be on campus and ideally connected to the existing facilities. Not in south west fargo. The building that the parkboard is proposing could never go on campus because the footprint is so huge, it's larger than the Fargodome. It's going to be similar to the one in Williston that has like 400,000 visitors per year. it's going to be a big time draw for people who live here and for things like tournaments. Can't have tournaments with the Bison practicing there from August to January plus spring camp.
Now I would like to see the Fargodome partner with them as part of an addition.
