    ANYWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYS

I think the reason, beyond just being fiscally responsible, to have the project fully funded before shovels in the ground, is to build good will with the state/school/town from a financial perspective, so that when something EVEN BIGGER (renovated or new stadium etc) get's pitched later, its a lot easier pill to swallow for the state/school/town.

It looks pretty good to say "hey we built a new basketball arena, IPF, New softball stadium/facility etc etc with our own money. Also, all of our scholarships are paid 100% by donors. Now we need _______ and it isnt going to be cheap. We will need some help blah blah blah blah"

That conversation is alot easier once you've built alot of good will over the last 15 years etc
    1. The FCS was the Best option for NDSU for a very long time.
    2. As a general rule- the FCS sucks at football and has proven that is not committed to football at all.
    3. It's time to go FBS

In order to build goodwill you need to be dealing with people who are capable of expressing goodwill toward your institution.

We all live in stories... It seems to me that a definition of any living vibrant society is that you constantly question those stories... The argument itself is freedom. It's not that you come to a conclusion about it. Through that argument you change your mind sometimes... That's how societies grow. When you can't retell for yourself the stories of your life then you live in a prison... Somebody else controls the story. - S. Rushdie

That doesn't have much to do with it. There will not be public financial support for athletic facilities unless it's a FargoDome type deal with the city involved. The SBOHE is not going to be helping us fund a new stadium.

Understatement of the year. The main role of the SBOHE is to keep NDSU from getting "too big for their britches".

They have already shown they dont give a shit unless they think THEY will have to expend money on a project. And the rules are set up so they dont have to.

I got an email today from the Development Foundation asking for feedback on the "Giving Day" experience. Its a quick little survey they sent out. With everyone's concern about "Why didn't we hear about this", its probably work a minute to share your experience with them. They didn't have a "how can we make this better" but I found a way to share some comments around "I only heard about this on Bisonville.com".

Btw they mentioned on the Coach's Show last week that they're about halfway to their $30M goal for the project. So still a long ways and a lot of cash to raise.
