Yep. Socialist drama queen. So much bullshit and exaggerated claims. And what does the entire cities vacancy rate, which includes south and west fargo, have to do with places within walking distance of campus. Does he really want the state to fund apartments when private can do it? Spend more resources we have on buses that nobody uses?

If the neighborhood really cared, than why did the owners sell? Because they dont care.

More buses too. I mean, everyone uses buses right? I haven't used one since I was like in elementary school

I didn’t read the guys letter but you know one thing that helps mass transit work more efficiently and effectively for more people? Density.

It doesn't have to be the state, there are other mechanisms. One would be to have a public bank finance a project which only charges enough rent to pay off the loan and expenses.

We don't need landlords leaching off society in order for there to be high quality affordable housing.

That said this project, if it happens, should be as large as possible. IMO anything less than 5 floors is unacceptable, which should become the standard downtown and everywhere adjacent.

    How about no.
Many thousands are in want of common necessaries; hundreds of thousands are in want of common comforts, sir."

Scrooge-"And the Union workhouses." . "Are they still in operation?". "Both very busy, sir..."
"Those who are badly off must go there."
"Many can't go there; and many would rather die."
Scrooge- "If they would rather die," "they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population."

The city planning commission approved a somewhat revised plan yesterday by a 5-4 vote. The number of apartments was reduced and the height along University lowered from 6 floors to 5. The height along 11th Ave reduced to 4 floors. Thirteen townhomes will be built along the west side of 12th St. Approval by the city commission is next. This is guaranteed since Mahoney, Peipkorn, and Grindberg never vote against any new developments.

Good to hear. I hope nobody on the city commission votes no. It's not their job to put up roadblocks to private investments. This is a great project
