With the bigger nationally televised games I've had issues streaming. Cuts out, poor picture quality, etc. Not sure if it's the app, ESPN, my internet connection, or just the fact so many people are streaming a particular game (MNF, larger college games, things like that).

MNF always streams like garbage on ESPN as well as big national college games. Pretty clear it's a bandwidth issue on ESPN's side because twitter lights up with complaints from people all over the US. Also I can find a reddit stream that will stream just perfectly on my connection while the official ESPN one is unwatchable.

Games with only regional interest like NDSU games always stream just fine for me. Hopefully that stays the experience for most people who are being forced to streaming with the move to ESPN+.

I've had generally the opposite experience. The app UI has generally been better on Firestick compared to Roku. Some of the reason is Amazon is a lot more open with it's technology than Roku (per a friend who is an engineer at Roku). My Roku has worked just fine, but I prefer the app UI on the Firestick better. I recommend getting at least one of each and determining which one you like best.

Issue with FireTV: Google doesn't like it. YouTube isn't an app and I can't cast to it. I bought one during Prime Day and, quite frankly, I wish I had paid a little more for a Roku. HATE that I can't cast YouTube because I watch so much of it. If I had done any research, I wouldn't have bought one. Works good other than that.

That would Bison All Access. The feed we get for ESPN+ will be the NBC/VNL version for most games.

Yep, same login whether you log into the website or through an app on Apple TV etc. You are subscribing to the service not the particular delivery method.

On the ESPN App press the watch then there is an EPSN+ tab.

I'd expect eventually ESPN will move all of their streaming into their main ESPN app and the WatchESPN app will go away, but that's just a guess. That's what it looks like has already happened on the Roku app so I'd expect the android phone apps to move to something similar.
