The font used for the numbers remains the single worst part of the design. Making them larger only makes them worse without really making them any easier to read. The problem is the negative space within the characters is so small the numbers just look like blobs no matter how large they are.

Here's to hoping on the next design they use that fonts for the lettering, but use something else for the numbers.

I think this is going to be an issue that solely exists on the green home jerseys. The darker colored numbers will probably work out better.

That's what I'm hoping for too.

The initial pictures released on twitter didn't look too bad, but they never showed the backs. It's the back number they made so large it looks goofy.

When I started working in graphics design a few years ago I learned it's called "kerning".

When I started working in graphics design a few years ago I learned it's called "kerning".

Kerning is the spacing between characters. I think the font itself is to blame for the numbers. It's italic and too bold which turns the numbers into skewed blobs.
