Better off? UND has less revenue from tickets sales, contributions, and licensing. They have $2M more in revenue student fees and over $3M more in revenue from "school funds". NDSU has $1M more in revenue from "other" (whatever that is). If you look purely at total revenue and total expenses UND does look more balanced but if you look at where those numbers come from it's clear that those numbers are inflated by subsidies.

Looking through the Mountain West teams, NDSU's ticket revenue is more than:

    Wyoming
    Nevada
    Colorado State
    UNLV
    Fresno State
    San Jose State
    Air Force
    Utah State

    And within $200K of:

    New Mexico
    San Diego State
    Hawaii

We did have 3 extra home playoff games last year but I believe most of that revenue went to the NCAA. So it seems that the Fargodome is not the stumbling block that many people claim, since that is presumably the bulk of our ticket revenue.

were the only one under 30%. SDSU is the only one under 40%. I think UNI and und are the only ones under 50%.

    You're at a 46% subsidy, NDSU is @ 28.7%.

Remember when NDSU went Division 1 and we were going there "on the backs of our students"?

The problem is all of those schools (with the exception of Nevada) have at least $10M more in revenue from subsidies than NDSU has. Do you think the students and/or the school/state would pick up the difference like the corresponding entities at those schools do?

JMU takes in $10M more in student fees that our total revenue. $37M from Students.

No, I don't. Just pointing out that the Fargodome appears to be generating very competitive revenue despite its size, so talk about replacing it is probably pretty foolish.

I am sad to say his transition already appears to be happening. He spends more time posting here lately than on SS. Actually, no one has posted anything on the Football forum for over 31 hours.

Then he goes on a tangent about hockey. It's not just hockey that's burning them.
