I don't think you raise them just to raise them. It's a good thing the fees are among the lowest.

This. The athletic department got sent home hat in hand because they didn't make a case.

I'm typically not a huge advocate of passing major expenses on to the students via student fees (like JMU), but would it be inappropriate to be in the MEDIAN for student fees in the MVFC? How big of a difference would it make?
Could you share where you got this information? When you refer to a median do you mean overall fees or fees going to athletics?
The only reason some people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

Ding Ding Ding. That's my reasoning. The student fees are something that we can hang our hat on. Until we desperately need them. As long as we have good leadership, we shouldn't ever desperately need them.

I agree with most here. Keep the fees as low as possible. If the AD asks to raise them and the students vote no them a compromise will be made like the loss of student seats this season. Being one of the lowest subsidized AD in the nation at any level is a nice thing to tout when those who hate athletics or higher ed start clamoring.

    1. The FCS was the Best option for NDSU for a very long time.
    2. As a general rule- the FCS sucks at football and has proven that is not committed to football at all.
    3. It's time to go FBS

UND has the 7th LOWEST student fees for sports in FCS and they take THREE TIMES as much as NDSU at #4.

and yes I was wondering what if we were the median for student fees going to athletics. Seems like it would be an incredible increase, didn't realize we were bottom 4 in the whole country for this, haha

That's one of the things I love about being a North Dakotan. Fiscal responsibility. Props to UND as well and I don't say that very often.
