Here's a 53 man roster prediction for them from before the preseason started: https://www.firstcoastnews.com/artic...n/77-581629892
Their D-line is insanely loaded so there's not a lot of room for LBs if they're keeping 10 on the D-line like the author predicts. The good news is a rookie 7th rounder is one of their starting OLBs so there's opportunity to make noise there.Linebacker (5, 40)
Telvin Smith, Myles Jack, Leon Jacobs, Donald Payne, Blair Brown
Thoughts: Smith and Jack are pegged as the starters at weak-side and middle linebacker. They are also the top nickel linebacker duo. Jacobs, one of the team's two seventh-round picks, has been lining up as the starting strong-side linebacker for the entirety of training camp. Payne and Brown can back up Smith and Jack and have flashed ability as off-the-ball linebackers. With [DEs] McCray and Phillips on the roster as potential backup SAM linebackers, the Jaguars only keep five guys at the position.
Maybe Nick will actually get some exposure this time around. Let's face it, the Titans had resources invested in other young LB's and Nick was not given much of a chance. The odds of Nick making the roster are slim (probably nonexistent), but he is an extra body for the last preseason game and could flash some potential that lands him on a practice squad somewhere. Thank goodness he wasn't signed as a tight end.

The best part is he's on a team for the last 2 preseason games. He should get a chance to play at least a little in that last game. Get a shot, take advantage of it.
Just hope he shows enough to land a practice squad spot to give him time to fully heal for the first time in years; convinced that is what is holding him back. Glad I was wrong on getting another shot.
I think he for sure makes a practice squad somewhere.
Many thousands are in want of common necessaries; hundreds of thousands are in want of common comforts, sir."
Scrooge-"Are there no prisons?". "Plenty of prisons..."
Scrooge-"And the Union workhouses." . "Are they still in operation?". "Both very busy, sir..."
"Those who are badly off must go there."
"Many can't go there; and many would rather die."
Scrooge- "If they would rather die," "they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population."
I agree that he didn't recover his athleticism after the meniscus. I had a sinking feeling when the announcer said that game that he had talked to Nick and he had said,"it's my time." I really felt that it wasn't the right time.
I also agree it doesn't look good being released early by the Titans, but then, on the other hand, this guy was actually drafted in the 2005 draft and released in June by the Giants.....https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cameron_Wake
It isn't over until a talented guy like Nick is actually permanently disabled, even just a little bit. If he can find a way to get back to 100% and recover all of his athleticism, other guys have blazed a trail. If Wake goes over a hundred sacks, he will be a shoe-in for the HOF.
Nick is on the Jaguars Practice Squad!
