Waiting on Messingham? Just go back to this past season when all the negative Nancy's where losing it do to the "forward pass" and claiming he was going to ruin Bison football with his Big Fluffy offense (even though they had to be constantly reminded that Messingham spent little time in the Big Sky as opposed to the time he spent in the Big 12, Big 10 and MVFC).

For about half the season, every game day had this going on from the negative Nancy's:

For most of the other half, this was their reaction due to the blow-outs:

    Hail the BISON!!!

Is there any chance the demand for excellence from the fan base helped motivate them to achieve?

Vigen had his chance to be the head football coach at NDSU after the 2013 season and basically told Taylor he wasn't interested. I don't see why that would've changed in the last 5 years.

And the $$ support? Kinda included I guess, but I was among the former players in ‘09 & ‘10 that we’re vocally question the direction of the program.

The demand for excellence at NDSU is culture driven. After those seasons Bohl admitted that they needed to to recruit a different type of player-athlete now that we are D1. Plus he admitted that they need to recruit a QB every year and they had lost continuity of the coaching staff with so many leaving.

Someone said it earlier, but Vigen’s best work? The forged steel of Brock Jensen. That’s a pretty good legacy. The story should have included Jensen.

I do miss Vigen's trick plays. Especially loved it when he would dial up a good one in the playoffs/NC.
